I visited Lloyd's of London during Open House London weekend."Lloyd's isn't a company - it's a marketplace, offering a range of insurance products". They have insured things such as: the Titanic, the World Trade Center, the tongue of Gennaro Pelliccia, Costa Coffee's Italian Master of Coffee.

Someone is Wrong on the Internet

There's no insurance firm called Lloyds! It's just a place for brokers and underwriters to meet and do business.

Some of *those* are firms - but not all - and none of them are called Lloyd. You could say that 'Lloyds of London' is collectively what they do.

Cool photos, though.

Re: Someone is Wrong on the Internet

Sorry! I didn't read the leaflet carefully enough.

Have now copied a sentence from it so hopefully that makes more sense.

I really need to keep an eye on those open days, missed it again. I only got a shot of Lloyd's from the outside. You had more interesting light. :o)
